“My name is Jeffree Star. I discovered makeup at the age of 13 and have been obsessed with it ever since. I used to copy looks from fashion ads in my mother's Cosmopolitan magazines and steal her eye shadows. When I graduated high school, I moved an hour north from Orange County, California to Los Angeles. I worked at makeup counters, freelanced and worked on many celebrities, music videos, fashion editorials and weddings. Now I teach makeup classes around the world and share my secrets that I've learned through over 10 years of experience. Playing with cosmetics is my favorite thing to do and I started to create my own formulas years ago but only wore them on myself & put them on my best friends. It's been a dream of mine since I discovered my first lipstick, to create and own my very own brand. My goal is to create products that do exactly what they say and that actually last!
So many of you have asked what's next! I love lips, so I wanted to make the most lightweight liquid-to-matte lipstick on the market! I'm already creating new colors that will be out shortly!! Also, regular lipsticks, lip scrubs, highlighters,and eye shadow palettes are being developed next!
I hope you all enjoy the pink blood, sweat, and tears that go into every product I make! My brand is for anyone who's fearless enough to be their own person. Let's inspire each other to stay true to who we are and have fun doing it!”

Jeffree Star Cosmetics is a cosmetic company founded by Youtuber and online sensation Jeffree Star. The company is a part of the huge world of makeup, a bigger industry than many people even realize. The company continues to grow and astronomical rates given Star’s huge online persona and a recent documentary put out surrounding his company and the beauty industry. I first found out about the company last year, but it’s been around for years and Star has been able to make a name for himself in the beauty world from simply starting online with makeup tutorials he would post on youtube (and still to this day does post.) He is now the CEO of a mega billion dollar company whose products compete with big name brands like Mary Kay and MAC Cosmetics. He started it all himself and built it from the ground up, which is something I very much admire about the brand and him as well.
While the company seems to be thriving, there are incidents that have occured in the last year that have threatened the brand’s product and potential success. Incidents are typically handled and addressed by Star on social media. I believe the way a scenario is handled by a certain company can make or break their business. I chose this company because it’s likely there is going to be conflict and drama surrounding the CEO or the company, and that could possibly hinder a brand. Past incidents include thousands of dollars in product being stolen from one of the company’s factories, hairs being found in the product, and people angered over comments made online by Star. The company’s positive attention at the moment is what drew me to it, but I am aware of the fact that it could be faced with potential negative attention as well.
